Summertime, Madrid. Everyone leaves the city for holidays and Lea breaks up with Mario after five years. Now she is gone, and Mario is all alone with something more than just his broken arm.
Facing coexistence only with himself in a deserted city, different characters will appear in Mario’s head. These guests, both invited and uninvited, will accompany him throughout this difficult summer as Mario has only love, loneliness and fear to guide him. His eccentric apparitions add a layer to his daily routine - writing his book, lazing by the pool in which he cannot swim, drinking and smoking. When faced with the real world, he has little success in connecting with the people in it. All the while, the searing Madrilian heat plays yet another character as it all but overwhelms Mario’s days.
This is a quirky debut feature from Carlos Dorrego – a quiet, yet engrossing sentiment to the curious psychological effects of relationship breakdowns and they trauma they leave.
