In the 1960s, Spanish comic artist and writer Manuel Vázquez Gallego created a surrealist parody of James Bond – he was Anacleto: Secret Agent. Over half a century later, Anacleto lives on in Spy Time as a smooth-moving, sharp-shooting, silver fox secret agent. His unmotivated son named Adolfo (Quim Gutiérrez, Three Many Weddings, SFF14) has recently been dumped by his girlfriend Katia (Alexandra Jiménez) and is completely oblivious to his father’s true profession. When Anacleto’s arch enemy Vázquez (named in honour of the comic’s creator) sets out to kill Anacleto, Adolfo is forced to face the truth and come to his father’s rescue. Together they join forces to rise against the evil Vázquez.
A perfect combination of laughs and malice are punctuated by award-winning action sequences and special effects as Adolfo fumbles to discover his inner secret agent and win Katia back. All the while, a superbly charismatic Anacleto effortlessly rises to the challenge of his enemies, while the wonderfully eccentric parents of Katia surprise in more ways than one!
